CCI GrowthCon was formed when Competitive Capabilities International (Africa) (Pty) Ltd (CCI Africa) acquired the asset care business of GrowthCon International (Pty) Ltd (GrowthCon) on 1 June 2005. CCI Africa has been implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) programmes since 1985. GrowthCon, formed in 2000, helped manufacturing and mining businesses improve the way in which they run and maintain their plant and equipment.
CCI-GrowthCon (CCIG) is focused on driving sustainable operational performance improvement, such as revenue growth, cost reduction/deferral and/or capital reduction/deferral.
The focus is on the following product areas:
- Asset Care and World Class Manufacturing
- Lean*
- Six Sigma**
- Supply Chain
There is a strong emphasis on building client capabilities to ensure that the practices and the results are sustained. CCI GrowthCon's strap line is "WE DELIVER VALUE".
CCIG has the exclusive licence for TRACC in Africa. TRACC is a comprehensive toolkit for the implementation of WCM, TPM, and Supply Chain. It is owned by CCI. Other intellectual property, including that relating to Lean and Six Sigma techniques, resides within CCIG.
* Lean techniques were developed to help drive out waste in manufacturing organisations but they are being applied increasingly in the service sector.
** Six Sigma was developed to reduce variability in outputs and is applied in manufacturing and services.
