Executive Profile - Monna Monnakgotla

Monna is the Deputy Managing Director of Resolve Workplace Solutions (RWPS), the largest subsidiary of the Resolve Group that has helped many organisations to improve their performance by providing them with holistic best-practice people management solutions. As part of a dynamic management team, Monna has contributed towards establishing RWPS as one of the premier people management consultancies in the country. In addition to his management role in RWPS, Monna also sits on the Boards of Directors of Media Works and Resolve Encounter Consulting.

Monna has over 10 years of management consulting experience. Before he joined RWPS in 2002, Monna worked for one of the top auditing and professional advisory firms as a senior consultant. Since joining Resolve, Monna has successfully project managed and worked on large-scale projects in the public sector and private sector. His consulting experience includes:

• Worked as part of an organisational restructuring and change management team in an international merger and acquisition transaction in Europe;
• Led a major HR-turnaround project for a national government department;
• Led a project on investigating the management of poor performance in the public service;
• Played lead consultant on the redesign of a Metro Municipality’s service delivery model;
• Led the change management programme for a major development finance institution;
• Led a project that resulted in improved HR management practices for a national government department;
• Led an institutional review project for Metropolitan Municipality;
• Played a key advisory role in the establishment of a Municipal Entity;
• Formed part of the team that evaluated the efficacy of South Africa’s Tourism Marketing strategy;
• Developed Human Resources Strategies and Implementation Plan for various organisations;
• Redesigned and improved HR business processes for a government agency;
• Participated in leadership development interventions for various institutions;
• Advised clients on compensation management.

Before his passage into the world of consulting, Monna worked as a researcher in the peace and security field where he wrote extensively on military and peacekeeping issues in the SADC region.
